wintertime

The snow is on the ground and equipment is standing idly by for some mining companies. For some juniors winter is a time to spend on marketing, planning and examining some of the samples pulled from their properties.

Here at PhotoMining we’ve been buys with events and waiting for the next big tradeshows. Once the snow is off the ground we’ll be back in the field looking for those great shots! If you are working this winter above or below ground, give us a call, we’re more than happy to wade through snow. We’re also well equipped for all the elements.

Happy holidays to everyone!

a taste of Morocco

What a weekend! I was lucky enough to work again with one of Vancouver’s best event planners, Simon Cooksley. Simon called me a few years back when his photographer had backed out of an event at the very last minute. I filled in and was pleasantly surprised when he called me last week asking if I wanted to shoot a theme party on a film set that was going to be changed over to something else and thew owners decided to take advantage of a great layout for a wild party.

It was definitely a challenge for me as there was a complete lighting set up that changed approximately every three seconds or so. Getting my flash to accomodate near black, bright red and everything in between stretched my abilities. Luckily though, I got there early and practiced a few different settings. All was well.

Many came costumed, elegance abounded and there was even a belly dancer balancing a sword on her head. This was definitely a lot of fun.

Not only industrial photos

That’s right, PhotoMining is branching out a little. In addition to industry and corporate photos, we took a look at consumer products. Recently, thanks to a great PhotoMining customer, we were referred to a growing Vancouver business to take some great shots of their Eco-friendly product line.
